Inge van Zon

Founder & Managing Partner

Inge van Zon is founder and Managing Partner of Z&Z Consulting. She has worked in several management roles, in both consulting and investment banking in Asia and Europe. After starting her career in the Netherlands and spending four years in London, Inge moved to Asia in 2009 and has since been working with financial institutions in Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and India. She has recently been recognised as one of the 100 most successful female entrepreneurs in the Netherlands with a listing in ‘Next Women 100’, which was compiled by the Dutch Financial Times and the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Inge believes that the effectiveness of financial institutions can be increased through developing a mix of technical and soft skills and continuously cultivating staff, whilst understanding the changing insurance landscape and regulatory requirements. Her passion to improve the effectiveness of people and organizations is the driving force behind her success. She strives to improve the effectiveness of people and organisations, with change management as the central focus of her work.

Consulting work aside, Inge has been teaching permanent education and in-company programs for financial institutions for 14 years and has been coaching senior executives for more than 5 years. Inge is a fellow of the Dutch Actuarial Institute (AAG). She holds an International MBA followed at the Kellogg, Nyenrode and Stellenbosch Business Schools, an Executive Master’s degree in Consulting and Coaching for Change from INSEAD, Master’s degrees in Actuarial Sciences and Financial Management and a minor in Working and Organisational Psychology.


Serge van Zon

Founder & Partner

Serge van Zon is founder and Partner at Z&Z Consulting. He has in-depth financial institutions knowledge and experience, having worked on risk management and compliance related projects for insurance companies in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia over the past five years. Prior to that he worked for Lehman Brothers in London and ING in the Netherlands in the areas of corporate finance, structured finance and debt capital markets.

Serge is also an experienced teacher in the field of Risk Management and ORSA and gives trainings in both Europe and Asia. He is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences a.o. on the topics of ‘Understanding the Credit Crisis’, ‘Opportunities for Growth, the Future lies in Asia’ and ‘Enterprise Risk Management’, He notably shared his insights at the Jakarta seminar ‘Taking Risk Management to the Next Level’, on implementation of Enterprise Risk Management within the Indonesian insurance industry.

Serge asserts that quality of work is strongly correlated with team spirit and cultural effectiveness. Having spent a large part of his life abroad across four different continents, he has vast experience working in an international arena. He excels at working alongside and managing different teams, ensuring cohesion through his effective communication skills and a broad understanding of differing cultures. With an attention to detail, Serge is a highly motivated individual, perfectly positioned to address all client concerns.

Serge holds an International MBA followed at Kellogg, Nyenrode and Stellenbosch Business Schools, and a Master of Science degree in Financial Economics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.

Rene Doff


Rene Doff is and ERM and Solvency II specialist and has been a risk manager since 2000 starting in the banking industry and moving to the insurance industry in 2005. Within Rabobank, the largest bank in the Netherlands, he was involved in Basel II and economic capital implementations. For Achmea Group, the largest insurance group in the Netherlands, he has been involved in risk management and Solvency II implementations throughout the Group. Rene set up and chaired the Dutch Solvency II working group. In 2006 and 2007 he worked for the European Insurance Federation (Insurance Europe) steering the Solvency II debates.

René earned his PhD in 2006 on risk management for insurers. He is a regular speaker on international conferences. René publishes regularly in academic and practitioners’ journals and has written a number of books. Most of his books are considered standard works on risk management and receive very positive reviews by readers across the globe. This holds for his early works (2004) as well as the second edition of his “Risk Management for Insurers” (2011). Rene is providing regular ERM training programs for the Singapore College of Insurers and as such has good overview of developments in Asia.

He is currently writing the Practitioners’ Solvency II Handbook, addressing all implementation aspects of a good ERM framework in the context of Solvency II. Even though this is rooted in the EU Solvency II regulations, risk managers all over the globe will benefit from the lessons learnt described in this new book. Rene is also teaching Risk Management at the University of Amsterdam and has excellent teaching skills that are very much appreciated by his students in both Europe and Asia.


Wei Wei Teoh


Wei Wei Teoh is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) with extensive experience in valuation and product development for life insurers. She is an experienced Prophet user. Wei Wei started her actuarial career at one of the local insurance companies in Malaysia and worked in Taiwan for ING Antai. She later returned to Malaysia to work for over 6 years as Deputy Head of the reporting team. Wei Wei joined the consulting industry 4 years ago and has been working for insurance companies across Malaysia, Hong Kong, Korea, Australia and India.

In addition to being an expert Prophet user for Valuation and Capital Management, Wei Wei is experienced in IFRS and US GAAP reporting, EEV, Solvency II, Economic Capital and Risk Based Capital Management, reinsurance management, pricing, modelling and reporting for both conventional and Takaful products.

Mudita Rastogi


Mudita Rastogi has been working in the life insurance and consulting industry for more than seven years and has experience in pricing, valuation, experience studies and business planning. Prior to joining Z&Z Consulting, she worked for McKinsey, KPMG and Reliance Life Insurance in India.

She has been working for a wide range of clients in India, UK, US, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand on assignments covering Statutory Reserving and Reporting, Embedded Value, Reinsurance and Prophet Model improvement projects.

Mudita holds a degree in Mathematics (Honours) from the University of Delhi, Hindu College, India and a Master degree in Actuarial Science from the Bharathidasan University, Bishop Heber College, India.

Foo Weng Chong


Foo Weng Chong is our actuarial expert and is a real all-rounder. He was previously involved in actuarial valuation using Prophet and pricing, insurance audit and enterprise risk management in both the life and the non-life insurance industry. Prior to joining Z&Z Consulting, he worked for Hong Leong Assurance and Uni.Asia Life.

Foo Weng leads the team with passion and positive energy. He is a quick learner, making him an expert in many areas, such as RBC2 Framework, IFRS and US GAAP, Prophet modelling, operational risk-based auditing on takaful and retakaful processes, Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) sensitivity analysis and more.

Foo Weng is a near-qualified Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) and Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA). He also holds a degree in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics (Honours) from the University of Malaya, Malaysia.

Laurent Criou

Leader Development Specialist

Laurent Criou is a qualified Executive Coach and Leadership Development Specialist based in Singapore. He is the Director of Leadership Elements, supporting the leadership development needs of senior executives and organisations. Prior to his independent executive coaching career, Laurent has been actively contributing to the development and leadership at AXA for over 10 years. As the Director of Talent & Leadership for AXA UK, he built a curriculum of leadership and technical development solutions as well as led the implementation of a new talent strategy. He was also the head of the AXA Asia Pacific Campus where he is responsible for the design and delivery of leadership and talent development strategies.

Laurent’s coaching approach is very business focused as well as client centered. His corporate experience allows him to align his style with the business challenges faced by his clients. He understands how to create business-relevant and practical development plans leading to effective change. His training as a clinical coach also enables him to stay very focused on his clients’ emotional and personal dilemmas. Finally, Laurent has a very strong track record in supporting senior executives going through change and overcoming deeply rooted resistances and competing commitments.

Laurent holds a Master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He is an alumnus of INSEAD’s Executive Masters Degree in Organizational Psychology. He speaks English, French and basic Mandarin. Laurent is also an accredited member of the INSEAD Global Leadership Centre (IGLC) as well as an associate coach at the Centre for Creative Leadership (CCL).


Dr. Sabine Menon

Leader Development Specialist

Dr. Sabine Menon is the founder of ‘Reflections’ and is an Executive Coach based in Shanghai, focusing on personal and leadership development. Dr Sabine is a French national and has been living abroad for over 18 years, working in Germany, the US, Argentina and China. She found her passion for coaching when she joined the London Business School in 2006, where she started coaching MBA and Executive MBA students, mentoring them towards career success and leadership development.

Some of the programmes and courses Dr. Sabine conducts for senior management include soft skills, strategic conversations, understanding EQ and team performance. She also worked within corporate organizations, coaching senior executives individually and training in staff mentoring programs. Dr. Sabine is also responsible for developing tailored leadership programmes for companies operating across a wide range of industries.

Dr. Sabine, who is fluent in English, French and Spanish, holds a MA in neuro-psychology and a PhD in Human Development and Organisations. Her doctoral research focused on ‘Professional Women Expatriates working for MNC’s’ and she has a special interest in Women’s Leadership and Global Mobility. She is accredited and certified with ICF at PCC level.


Ragil Ratnam

Ragil Ratnam, Programme Development specialist, is a registered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years experience in dealing with human resource challenges as well as executive coaching. He is currently based in Bangkok and works with various local and multinational clients throughout Asia. Ragil has held senior talent management and leadership development functions in Old Mutual and Credit Suisse prior to starting his consulting career. People management and soft skills development is a core part of Ragil’s working experience as well as personal growth, executive leadership development and executive coaching.
